Cathy Jacobs has a background in childcare, church ministry, and education. When Cathy's four children were young, she operated a large childcare center in her Eden Prairie, MN home. When her youngest entered elementary school, Cathy returned to Bible College to complete her Bachelor's Degree and began working as a Children's Ministry Director which eventually took her family to Brainerd, MN. After several years in church ministry, Cathy was led into music education and soon began her public school teaching career at a small Montessori Charter School, teaching general music class for preschool through grade 6. Finally in 2015, as empty nesters, Cathy and her husband moved to Spooner to care for her aging mother. This became Cathy's primary responsibility. However, she continued to teach as a substitute for the Spooner School District, which allowed the flexibility necessary to continue caring for her elderly mom. Along with subbing, Cathy has advanced her education in teaching by pursuing a degree in Secondary Education with a focus of Broadfield Social Studies from UW Superior. Now that Cathy's mom has passed on, she is excited to be teaching full time again, especially in a school where she can openly live out her Christian faith and draw from her varied experiences with students. Cathy and her husband enjoy spending time with their adult children and grandchildren when they are not serving other children in the community.
