Hello! My name is Miss Hill. I teach 4th Grade and Middle School Spanish at SFdS! It is my second year here. My goal this year for my 4th graders is to master note-taking.
I graduated from UW-River Falls with a major in Elementary Education. My minor was Spanish.
I have four saltwater fish. I love to craft and someday I hope to travel to Ireland and Scotland!
This week in 4th grade we tackled everything weather. We have been learning about different types of clouds and tested our predictions of chemical reactions by microwaving a bar of ivory soap. We concluded that it looks most like a cumulus cloud. After that we investigated what how clouds react once they can't hold any more water vapor. We did this by putting shaving cream on top of water. The water represents the atmosphere with the shaving cream representing the clouds. Once the food coloring (water vapor) gets too heavy for the shaving cream clouds, it starts to stream down the water atmosphere. We literally saw rain in action. We also learned today that not all experiments work the first time we do them, and the best thing to do is to persevere and try again!
